Keep the energy high from your first pitch of the day to the last

When you are working from home in a phone sales position, keeping the energy high in your voice is an often overlooked challenge. You don't have managers looking over your shoulder. You don't have the energy of a sales floor and all the other salesmen around you pitching. It is just you and the leads list and the person on the other end of the line. Over. And over. And over... Being able to keep the energy in your voice as you pitch throughout the day is the difference between just scraping by or making truly fat stacks.

As you go in to each phone, remember, you may have given this presentation a thousand times this week, but the person on the other end of the line has never heard it before. This is your opportunity to present your product or service with all the passion and vigor you can muster. If you allow your tone and energy to fall flat, the odds of you getting the sale decrease dramatically, and the odds of that same lead converting into a customer later on down the line diminish as well. Remind yourself that every lead is sacred, every conversation is an opportunity to not only make your paycheck, but also to improve the life of your prospect with your product or service.

So, how do you keep your energy and enthusiasm high on those days when you're simply not feeling your best? I recommend putting a small mirror on a stand on your desk. It doesn't have to take up much space, but just having a mirror near by positioned in such a way that you can see your face when you're on a call can make all the difference. It will remind you to smile, and to emote as you describe your features and benefits, and that WILL come through in the tone of your voice, keeping the prospect more engaged with what you are saying. It is also a good idea to get up and move around during the call as you are speaking. Motion creates emotion, and emotion sells. If you are currently using a wired headset and can't get up and pace during a call, I would advise investing in a wireless headset for this purpose. there are tons of them out there on the market and the tech has come a very long way making for longer battery life and less weight. A wireless headset is a must.

If you think you could benefit from some one on one support in crafting habits and routines that support the kind of high energy you need in order to pitch successfully day in and day out, consider signing up for a coaching session, or, better yet, schedule your FREE 15 minute intro session to see if we might be compatible. You have nothing to lose.

Now it's time to smile and dial! Go make those fat stacks!
